One fairly inexpensive way to upgrade your mx bike is to install an aluminum throttle tube. Aluminum throttle tubes are much less likely to be damaged in a crash, and the knurled surface keeps your grips in place without the need for glue or grip wire. Most throttle tubes on the market today smooth out and even shorten the throttle pull, thus improving throttle response and even wrist/arm fatigue.
Starts and corners will be improved since the power delivery is smoothed out. Overall, an aluminum throttle tube is one of the cheapest ways to secure a race finish after a crash, and to modify the power delivery of your mx bike.
